Mimmo Calopresti (President)
Mimmo Calopresti was born 1955 in Polistena, Calabria. He is an Italian film director, screenwriter, producer and actor. He lived in Torino for many years and here is where he started his career as a documentary director. He has done many documentaries . In fact he has always been interested in social topics. He makes his first documentary A proposito di sbavature in 1985, followed by Alla Fiat era cosi’(1990), a series of interviews to some ex blue-collar working in Fiat during 1969 when the social and political revolutionary movement wrapped Italy. Then, his first fiction interpreted by Nanni Moretti, La Seconda Volta– The Second Time in 1995. Set up in the tidy Torino, Mimmo Calopresti tells us with a great courage of words the terrorism of those times. It is a success recognized inside and outside the country. His film The Second Time was entered into the 1996 Cannes Film Festival. With La Parola Amore Esiste– The Word Love Exists (1998) he goes to Rome to set up the story of a cello teacher (Fabrizio Bentivoglio) and a weird beautiful girl (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi). The confirmation of his original style makes this work remarkable in several international festivals. In Preferisco il rumore del mare – I prefer the noise of the sea (2000) he is also actor, next to main character interpreted by Silvio Orlando. La felicita’ non costa niente- Happyness doesn’t cost anything, is from 2002. Mimmo Calopresti, tells about people who attempt to live with their personal contradictions, conscious of the urgency of making a choice and of its probable consequent mistakes.
He has directed 16 films since 1987. In 2006 he realized I Only Wanted to Live a documentary showcasing interviews with Italian holocaust survivors that were deported to Auschwitz. Drawing on the extensive archives of Steven Spielberg’s Shoah Foundation, he has crafted a straightforward, yet deeply affecting portrait of what happened to Italy’s Jews.

Helene Trigueros
Hélène Trigueros, a french director who’s working in film for years. She was assistant director and camerawoman for several short films and documentaries. After five years of shooting she has made a trilogy about the prison, a topic in which she specializes : Les résidentes, Dernier retour en détention and Surveillante en prison, le contre-champ des barreaux. These documentary films are a co-production France 3 Bourgogne Franche-Comté and France 3 national “la case de l’oncle doc” and “Planète justice” for the last part.
She has made a lot of interviews on various aspects of detention, the way women relate to the prison nvironment and the dynamics between prisoners and between prisoners and guards. In her latest film, a documentary series about female prison environment “Surveillante en prison”, “le contre-champ des barreaux”, 2008, the camera
comes out of the cells to go to discover the professional routine of prison warders. We are in the Jail of Dijon: the stories of four women, Corinne, Veronica, Patricia and Emmanuelle, who arrived by chance to this unusual profession. “Mois national du film documentaire » Paris 2009, International Women’s Film Festival in Florence (Italy) 200., Selected at the festival « Prisons : portes ouvertes », Paris 2009.
Actually she is shooting a documentary about homosexuality for France 3 called “Un désir ordinaire” and at the same time she continues her observatory on the justice with the documentary “Une liberté sous contrôle” about the Correctional Service SPIP.

He has a degree in philosophy with a thesis on the history of cinema. He is a documentary films director and teaches documentary director. He is also a writer.

He teaches at Cinecittà “Act Multimedia – Accademia di Cinema e Televisione”, is a professor in the masterat the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and at “Suor Orsola Benincasa” of Naples.
He wrote with Gianfranco Pannone L’officina del reale (published by CDG in 2009): it is a book with the soul of a manual on making documentaries, combined with a reflection on the ethics of the story of reality;he wrote the historical novel Que viva Marcos! (manifestolibri, 1995), about the uprising in Chiapas neozapatista and wrote a travel book Cannella e garofano – Istantanee dallo stato di Bahia e altre storie.

Dino Viani (PRESIDENT)
Dino Viani , Chieti, Abruzzo began his activities as a director in the 80s. Hisfirst film was “Il Generale” in 1989.
Abruzzo, his country, was a great source of inspiration. His works are based on a nostalgic feeling towards the farming culture and speaks about displacement, migrationand wonder towards the cosmos. It ‘s also important his relationship with the culture and the people in Argentina.
He is stage manager, stage director, documentary filmmaker, photographer(exhibitions in Argentina, France, Japan).
In 2007 San Pietroburgo film festival dedicated to Dino Viani a film exhibition and his works are presented at the 52 Biennale of Venice and for the first time Abruzzo becomes material for artistic investigation. In 2009 he realized Canto 6409 about the earthquake in Abruzzo. The film was presented at 62° Cannes Festival (at
United States of America Papillon) and at Amsterdam Film Festival Re-Imagining the city.
In Berlino on July 29, 2009, he presented his new film “Un giorno e un altro ancora”.
On Dicembre 2009 his works were presented during the “Vision in New York”exhibition at
ColumbiaUniversity.

Simona Troilo
Simona Troilo is a researcher in the Department of Contemporary History. She was involved in urban history, cultural heritage and identity processes related mainly to Italy in the nineteenth and twentieth. Currently he performs a search on the archaeology of the European Mediterranean in the age of imperialism. His work examines the role of archaeological practice in several European countries (Britain, Germany, France, Italy).
Another field of research is the history of gender. in particular the question art / feminist investigated long-term related to the exclusion of women and their production from art history. She teaches at the l’Università of Padova and is a researcher in EuNaMus: European National Museums: Identity Politics, the Uses of the Past and the European Citizen.

Its main aim is the diffusion of the cinematographic and audiovisive culture.The association intends to encourage the expansion and the use of many existing multimedia activities in the region and promotes new ones.
